Agreement on Cooperation in the Area of Culture, Science, Education, Sport, Health Protection, Economy and Municipal Activity

entered into in Płock on .........................................

between the Town of Thurrock in England and the City of Płock in Poland,
hereinafter referred to as  Contracting Parties :

• aiming at bilateral Polish – British cooperation, consolidating peace and  social existence as well as European integration and promotion of the idea of Common Europe in the broad  sense of the term

• in order to encourage  mutually beneficial  cooperation and exchange between economic and  cultural, educational and sports institutions and same and in order to attribute particular importance to direct, creative interpersonal contacts,

The Parties have agreed as follows :

 
Article 1

The Contracting Parties shall develop cooperation in the area of culture, science, education, sport, health protection, economy and municipal activities in accordance with the provisions of this agreement and following the principle of  equal rights.

Article 2

Each of the Contracting Parties shall make efforts aimed at  popularizing  artistic and cultural values of the other Contracting Party assuring wide access of their citizens to these,  promoting social and individual contacts. 

Article 3

The Contracting Parties shall encourage the development of direct contacts and cooperation of organizations and creative associations, foundations as well as cultural institutions.

Article 4

The Contracting Parties shall encourage the development of mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation, the exchange of  experience in the area of municipal activity and contacts between businesses from both cities.

Article 5

The Contracting Parties shall encourage the cooperation in the area of sports activity carried out by organizations from both cities.

Article 6

The Contracting Parties shall encourage  cooperation in the area of health protection, medical sciences carried out by respective organizations and  associations.

Article 7

1.This agreement shall be entered into for an unlimited period of time.
2.Each of the Contracting Parties may terminate this agreement at the expiration of the six months’ notice.

Article 8

The agreement  has been prepared in two (identical) copies, each one in Polish and English version. Both  versions have equal legal force.

Article 9

The agreement shall enter into force after being approved by the Councils of both Cities and after being signed by the Mayors.
